The Darwin Award


A CCSF Student Scholarship

The Darwin Award was established in memory of Charles H. Wincorn

to honor his love of Astronomy and Mathematics and his humanitarianism.


Amount: $500


Deadline: March 2, 2007


Requirements: 1) Be currently enrolled at CCSF in good standing.

2) Have completed a minimum of 24 units with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

3) Have a goal of earning a baccalaureate degree in Astronomy or a related field (e.g.

Physics, Geophysics, Math, etc)

Comments: The Personal Statement discussing the student’s interest in Astronomy or a related field will play a major role in the applicant’s selection.
